Fire and Flames

Water Marble Nails

Hey all, so today for my normal Saturday Manicure I'm doing another water marble. This time I will be sharing how I do it on my nails, unlike my previous water marble posts. So lets get to it..
First off I already painted my nail with two coats of Jess French White.

I cut 20 strips of masking tape, two for each finger. I tape all fingers on my left hand as I do this hand first, being right handed I find this easier for me. But when I do my right hand I tape each finger as I water marble, it, as I find it hard to pick the lids of the polish up with tape around my fingers. Bottled water at room temperature in a paper cup, about an inch away from the top, polishes open and orange stick at the ready, lets start..

I did all my fingers apart from one, which I videoed to show how I got the flame design in the water, and finger placement over the pattern. I again apologise for the quality of the video, and I will show photos at the end..

And for the photos, all cleaned up and topcoated :)

Hope you enjoy reading this post. I'm not one for yellow polish against my skin tone, however I think as this has the other colours and not just yellow, it look ok. I like it anyway lol, what do you think?

Stay safe and much love..

Autism Awareness

Blue Nails

Hello again lovely people! I'm here with another awareness post, this time for Autism. Again there's an event on facebook for Blue Nails for Autism Awareness. My post this time will be totally different to my normal ones, as blue is my favourite colour. So I will share my blue manicures, possibly plain or with some nail art. The first one is Perfect Holographic in H4. An awesome blue holo polish...The cheapest holo I have, but that doesn't show in the holographic quality :)

Next up is an untried polish that I got for my birthday. Revlon Royal. A wicked blue with a gelly like quality. I love this shade of blue, and the finish (without a topcoat) is super shiny.

Next up is another untried and birthday gift. My one and only Opi polish! Reflecting Pool. Such a beautiful polish with gold and silver sparkles.

Then the sun made a quick appearance, so I quickly stamped with Gosh Holographic and Konad plate m78.

The next mani I used two blue polishes. Silly of me, but when I sorted all the blue polishes out for this week, it didn't occur to me that apart from the Perfect Holographic, the rest were all untried polishes! So anyway I used Barry M Silk in Mist and Barry M Gelly in Blue Grape. I also used my Princess Moyou plate for the first time too :) Take a look..

Ok so were at the last blue mani for the cause, again another new polish, and another cheap one. Pretty by Quest Blue Denim Look polish. I knew I had left this polish last for a reason.....but not a bad one. What an awesome polish! One coater, lovely to apply and dries quickly to a matte finish.

Now although I like the finish to this polish, I wanted to see what it would look like with a topcoat. And I wasn't disappointed! Take a look...

It would be hard for me to choose a favourite from all these blue manicures I have done, as I like them all! As I've said though blue is my fav colour, and I have enjoyed doing this post for Autism Awareness :) Here are all the polishes together...

Perfect H4, Revlon Royal, Opi Reflecting Pool, Barry M Mist, Barry M Blue Grape and Pretty Blue Denim.
I hope you enjoy reading this, and I will be back on Saturday with a final water marbled design that I'm hoping to video on my nails and not on false ha ha, so till then take care and much love....

Purple Nails

Purple for Epilepsy Awareness

Hi lovely people. For today's nails I'm joining in with an event on facebook for Epilepsy Awareness, and the theme is purple nails. Epilepsy affects more than 500,000 people in the UK. This means almost 1 in 100 people has the condition. although I personally don't know anyone who suffers with epilepsy. It usually begins during childhood, although it can start at any age. Seizures are the most common symptom of epilepsy, although many people can have a seizure during their lifetime without developing epilepsy.
I was more than happy to join in and do a purple manicure to raise awareness.

I've done a few water marble's just lately, that I went back to just painting my nails! I wanted a nice spring coloured purple, and Candy Coated by Sinful Colors was the perfect one.

Two coats no topcoat..

Such a beautiful cream polish. For something different aswell I used purple flower water decals. Something quick and easy today after the week I've had! Here they are...

I think the darker shade of purple flowers against the Candy Coated polish goes so well together, and the added butterflies on the decals just finish this manicure perfectly. What do you think?
Till next time stay safe and much love...

Water Marbling

Water Marbling...what polishes?

Hey all, hope you are all well. We have a new internet provider now :) working much better. This is going to be a very big photo and video post showing what polishes I use to water marble. Also showing how well and bad each one works in the water. I used false nails, just because I was testing 13 different brands of polish, and this was quicker. But the process is the same when doing it on your own nail, apart from taping each finger to save on clean up when you're done. But as for placing the nail in the part of the design you like its all the same. You will see in some videos when the polish doesn't seem to spread well, I use my orange stick in the water to make it spread, this tip can also be used when you need or want to clean the surface of the water. You drip in one drop of polish, use the orange stick to pull the polish to the outside of the cup, wait for it to dry (you can blow on it to speed it up) the remove with a cotton bud (that's what I use). Also once you have dipped your finger into the water and cleaned the excess polish from the surface, if you slowly take your finger out the water it reduces bubbles forming in the polish.
As I've said this is a heavy photo and video post, I'll show the photo's of the polishes and then the video of the water marble with them. I also apologize for the quality of the video as it's only a cheap camcorder.

So are you ready?..........

MNY, Beauty UK, Chit Chat, Collection 2000, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, MUA, La Femme.

As you can see all of these polishes work well, the Pride of London nail was an error on my part for not making the design big enough for the nail! I hope this helps, was a hard post to do, but enjoyed doing it :) Ask me anything if you need to and I'll try my best to help.
Thanks for stopping by and till next time, stay safe and much love....
