Eating Disorder Awareness Week

Purple Nails For B-eat

Hello! The lovely Emily Georgina Hackett pointed out to the All things nails facebook group that this week was Eating Disorder Awareness week, and asked if we would all help raise awareness by painting our nails purple, in recognition of the purple ribbon used by B-eat. Now I have to say that I don't personally know anyone affected by an eating disorder, but I wanted to get involved and help do my small part in raising awareness. If I am asked about my nails when I am out I will be sure to tell the person why they are purple.
I decided I wanted to use more than one purple polish, so came up with three that work so well together from Beauty UK's Glam polish.

Cotton Candy, Lilac Girl and Jelly Bean

So for my purple mani, I did a water marble. I drew a flower in the polish, then spiked the petal by drawing in the opposite direction. Here how they came out :)

Then the sun came out :D

And on my other hand...

And finally topcoated :)

Love this water marble, and so happy with how each nail came out. The Beauty UK Glam polishes are awesome to water marble with.
So what do you guys think?
Stay safe and much love...

I did a second purple mani, as I wanted to try out a purple polish that I got but forgot about!! Also to try the 2true Metallica for stamping..

Watercolour Nails and Nail Protector Review

Rainbow Nails

Hey everyone :) So a quick update for you all about my last post. Facebook will not be taking any action against the page with the same name as mine, or the abusive pictures the person behind the page sent me! I haven't heard anymore from this person, and if I do I will just be ignoring them. I'm refusing to change my page name, so have just update my cover photo with my name included. Also have decided to watermark my photos starting from today's post, just incase this person tries to steal those aswell!!
Anyway back to this manicure. I wanted something bright and colourful, as the sun has been shining all day, and that makes a nice change. So this mani is Spring inspired. I have new polishes that I got for my birthday, and will be using those in the coming weeks. Also this is a 2 in 1 post with a review of something else I got for my birthday.
Started by painting two coats of white polish and then a matte topcoat.

Not sure how many of you have heard about these nail protectors, They are a very simple design for protecting your nails when you have just painted them.

You basically clip them to your finger after you have painted your nails, and flip the protector bit over your nail.

Now its a clever idea, however as some of my nails aren't totally straight, I found when I flipped it down it caught the wet polish! So as to how often I will use these I'm not sure.
I painted a matte topcoat as the watercolour paint would adhere the the nail better.

Now I knew this mani would take me sometime to do, so I stamped the design on my nails instead of freehand painting it.

Had to double stamp as you can see, but all the white will be covered the watercolour paint. So with a fine nail art brush I began to fill in the gaps, randomly with the paint. After what seemed like forever lol I had finished.

You can see how the paint also dries with a matte finish, and I couldn't wait to see how the colour would pop when I added the topcoat. I used ( like always) La Femme Clear polish, as this doesn't smudge and design or paint. Then Sally Hansen 30 second Insta-Dri.

Even happy with how my right hand turned out..

May have taken a while, but I love this! So bright and cheerful :)
What do you think? I love hearing from you guys...
Take care and much love...

Just to let you know....

A different post today

Hello all, hope you are well :) I have a different post on my blog today. I was looking forward to this week, kids on half term so no earlyish mornings, and my birthday on Tuesday, so new nail goodies :) Now don't get me wrong, I have had a good week, but its been a bit tarnished by another person on facebook. With all the #sharethelove going on I discovered a new facebook page, who had used the same name as my nail page on facebook!! I researched how to change a page name, and found that only pages that have less than 200 likes can do so. With almost 3000 likes, I can't and am not really prepared to as I came up the the name first! So I politely messaged the person behind this new page asking them if they could change their page name. At first they said yes, but still haven't! Now this may seem a silly thing to get upset over, but I have worked hard on my page, and my nails and didn't want any confusion over facebook, as this new page has nothing to do with me or mine. They started to become rude, calling me stupid and telling me to leave them alone. I think now they are just playing games in refusing to change their page name. I don't even know if its a man, woman or child behind this page! I and many other lovely ladies in All Things Nails group on facebook have reported this page to facebook as a duplicate page. Then what happened today was shocking to me. They started a convo again and said they are not good as I am angry with them. I replied with I am not angry just upset that you said you would change your name and haven't, then they sent me this picture....

I google translated to find they they mean impossible. I asked why and was sent this picture!!!

Now to say I was taken aback is an understatement!! They stopped talking after this. I have sent the whole conversation to facebook as threatening  behavior, and now just waiting to see what facebook does. So this post is basically to let others know that my page Nutty about Nails and Polish is the original page, and the other has nothing to do with me or my nails. I'd also like to thank all my wonderful blog followers and likes on facebook for your continued support. And the awesome ladies in the All Things Nails group for standing by me with the matter. I will keep you all updated as things progress...
Stay safe and MUCH LOVE to you all....

Nail Art inspired by a painting

Painting inspired nails

Here again! Hello all :) As I said yesterday I have a Nail Art I have never tried before! I was worried it wouldn't look how I wanted it too, but it has :)
I was invited to join in with different nail art designs on facebook by Jo at Beauty and the books. The one for this weekend is to be inspired by a painting. Right away I knew what painting I wanted to try and recreate on my nails. It was painted by my Mum in 1960!

Sadly I'm not sure if this painting is a view of somewhere she was, or just painted for fun. But I love it all the same. So to my nails and how to recreate this painting on them...

I decided to use a selection of acrylic paints, and start out with a white matte base colour. Just one coat of white polish and then a matte topcoat, so the acrylic paint sticks better to the polish. I used the fan brush to make the gradient effect with the three blue paints. Just dipped in the paint and swipe across my nails. Used this way of doing the gradient as I think it makes for a more realistic sea and sky effect, which I wouldn't have got with a sponge.

This would awesome just left like this! But using the other colour paints, I painted the rocks with the waves crashing into them, the grass and seagulls. I painted more grass on my thumb nail. No topcoat here.

So happy with how they look, but then when I added the topcoat it just made them look so much better! What do you think?

Would love to hear what you think on my nails this weekend?
And till next time, stay safe and much love....

Valentine's Day Nails

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello! Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day :) I'm happy too, as I now have over 100 blog followers! Welcome to you all old and new :)
This is the last of my Valentine's nails. I've been planning to use these two colours for a nail art for ages, but never got round to it till today. I have used them both before though, Pretty Matte Black and Ebalay Metallic Pink. Started out with two coats of Matte Black polish.

The stamping plate I'm using is Jumbo plate O, and the hearts image.

The metallic pink is an awesome colour, that get brighter with a topcoat. So here's just after stamping with no topcoat.

And now with a final topcoat...

I love this colour combination, do you? And the hearts image really pops with the black base colour. Well till tomorrow when I hopefully will have a really special nail art, (if all goes well lol ), wishing you all a lovely day, stay safe and much love....

Liebster Award :)

Hello all, I have been nominated twice for the Liebster Award, so I will combine both nominations in this post. Dawn from Sassy Little Nails and Mary-Ann from Angel Flicks are the two lovely ladies who nominated me :)
It's no so much an award, as I think i did explain in other posts when I've been nominated before. It's more about finding upcoming bloggers whose blog have less than 200 followers.
The rules are to answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you, and then nominate 11 other blogs with another set of 11 questions, then link back your post to the person who first nominated you.

My answers to Dawn questions are:
1. Must have____ in your beauty bag?
Mascara, if nothing else I don't leave the house without putting some on lol.
2. Guilty pleasure?

Chocolate or Enrique...Chocolate or Enrique... how about both together!!
3. Hobby besides beauty/fashion?

Baking, love making cakes and treats.
4.If you could only own one make-up brush, which would you choose?

Blusher brush, the only one I really use!
5.What's a good book you've read recently?

Sadly I don't read as much as I'd like to. The last book a read was 'A child called It' a true story and very sad, that I managed to get the follow ups and read those within a few days.
6. Who do you look to for style inspiration?

Honestly I haven't really got anyone in mind. I'd love to go clothes shopping with Gok Wan though!7.  Name 2/3 Favourite online shops?
Fragrance Direct and Cosmetic Fairy.
8.  What is blogging to you?

I love sharing my nail art with others. Wasn't too sure when I first started how much I would enjoy it, but now its a part of my life and I love every second.9.  Who is your favourite blogger?
This is a hard one to choose as there are so many awesome bloggers.
10.  Which is your best post?
When I joined in with the British Nail Bloggers and chose my top 10 polishes.
11.  If you could choose a charity to donate to which would it be and why?

MNDA top of my list every time as I think it needs to be made more aware to people.

And now the questions I was asked by Mary-Ann:
1) What is your favourite polish colour?
I love 2 colours and find it too hard to choose between them. Electric Blue and Neon Pink.
2) Romcom or scary movie?
Not one for scary films lol What Happens in Vegas.
3)What is your guilty makeup secret purchase?
Nail polish every time lol.
4) What is your favourite style?
Jeans and jumper mainly as in this weather and school runs to do!!
5) Best thing about blogging?
Apart from sharing my nails with others, its seeing what other bloggers do and the lovely comments :)
6) Describe your dream job?
Working with nail polish!!
7) If you could have anything what would it be?
To spend another day with my Mum <3
8) Favourite and worst foods
Best-Freshly cooked donuts and worst-brussel sprouts ha ha
9) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully still painting my nails and blogging, and a job to do with the nail polish industry.
10) Fake or real? (i.e. nails, lashes etc)
Real every time for lashes, my nails are real and never had false so hard for me to comment.
11) Last one - favourite brand of all time?
Of all time I would have to say Sally Hansen, as I first started with her miracle growth polish, and although my collection has grown, I still use the fast dry top coat.

Wow!! Now for my 11 questions....
1. What inspired you do start a blog?
2. When someone comments on your posts, do you always reply?
3. Have you ever had any negative comments? If so how do you react?
4. What's your favourite season and why?
5. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
6. If you could change just one thing in your life, would you?
7. Do you enjoy blogging? Or has it taken over your life?
8. Has anything good ever happened to you because of your blog?
9. Sweet or Savory?
10. Would you, or have you got a second blog?
11. Where do you see your blog 5 years from now?
