A Year of Nail Art..

2014 and what a Year!

So I have been blogging for a year and a half now, and have enjoyed every minute of it! I also want so say a massive Thank You to all of my followers, and to all those who stop by for a read, and comment. All your support means a lot to me :)
Last year I did my first End of the Year post, looking back at the manicures I had done through the year. I thought I'd do it again, but this time choose the nail art I really loved.
Looking back, there are some months that I have more mani's I really like.... So lets start

January

I really love the water marbled stripes against the off white polish.

February

This mani was inspired by a painting my Mum did back in 1960. My first real attempt at freehand, but so pleased with how it came out.

March

March seemed to be the month all I did was water marble my nails! These two are my favourite from them all.

April

Another two attempts at freehand, and all my practise is paying off! I love the rainbow water marble, and my tribute to the film Mean Girls with Sinful Colors 24/7, I love love love how it glows, what an awesome pink!

May

Yet another water marble, this time Austin Powers inspired, and my sexy black lingerie nails.

June

Freehand roses and polka dots, inspired by my daughters new coat.

July

When I shared with you all that my daughter is expecting her first child :) Using my own made water decals.

August

Now I do love me a patchwork manicure, and love these two. The colour block nails came out well for a first go at them.

September

Freehand roses in memory of my Mum's birthday and my first Autumnal mani of the year.

October

My Halloween patchwork, and Gothic look nails :)

November

Holographic leadlight tartan nails, I love the pink and black too. And the cameo nails are just so elegant.

December

This Winter scene is a favourite Christmas mani of mine :)

Gold zipper water decals, so simple but an effective look.

I just had to add these cute freehand Snowmen!

Black and Gold water marble, my first marbled nails in a long time!

My attempt at Stained Glass Christmas Nails :)

Red and Green Poinsettia, and another water marble.

I know this look gold, but is actually silver! My plain and simple New Year Mani.

I hope you all have a great Christmas, and I wish you all a very Happy New Year, whatever you may be doing, and that 2015 brings you love, luck and happiness, and more manicures :)

Stay safe and much love...

Christmas Day Nails

Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you like my Christmas Day Nails. Also I would like to take this time to say a huge thanks to everyone following me or not who has stopped by and had a look at my blog.
To get straight on with my nails though, I painted them with a most awesome blue polish from Sinful Colors called Ciaobella, and topped this with my homemade holographic topcoat.

Just look at that awesomeness!!
I was going to stamp over with white, but changed my mind and did my favourite Winter mani again!

The decals are some I had from last year and new ones from the Born Pretty Store. I love the look of this and the snowy castles :) One day I will attempt a freehand version of this mani!!
I hope you have a great Christmas, with lots of laughter and as always stay safe and much love..

12 Days of Christmas... Day 12!

Freestyle

And we made it!! Day 12, the last day of this awesome challenge. I hope you have enjoyed this  as much as me, and also being part of this challenge too. For this last mani I have done a favourite nail art of mine. If you follow me I'm sure you can guess, but I just couldn't let 2014 by without one more patchwork!!
I have used traditional Christmas colours for this patchwork, and all sparkly/shimmery too for an added extra touch.

Essence Hint of Love, Pretty Green Metallic and Sally Hansen Golden I.
I painted my nails white, and then with each polish added random splodges on my nails. Added the black tiny stitches with acrylic paint and a very fine detail brush.

I do love me a Patchwork Nail! And love this Christmas inspired one.
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with for this Freestyle Challenge...
I'm sure I will have two more mani's before this year is over, so till then stay safe and much love...

12 Days of Christmas.... Day 11

Christmas Presents

Hello again, and here I am with my Day 11 nail art. I had 2 designs in mind for this one, and ended up choosing the hardest of the two, mainly because I did the other last year.

Again another inspired by Robin Moses, and also a different look for a Christmas Present Nail Art.
I started by painting my nails with a sheer nude colour, and adding red to the tips.

Then with some acrylic paint I slowly painted presents and candy canes, and added detail when they were dry.

I am so happy with how these came out. One of by better freehands inspired by Robin Moses!!
I'm so looking forward to Day 12, as I have a really special idea in mind.
Till then, thanks for stopping by and stay safe, much love...

12 Days of Christmas...Day 10

Ugly Christmas Sweater

Wow, day 10 already! Hello again, just a short post for this one as it's nearly the end of the School Term and have loads going on at my Daughters School.
From all the challenges this was the trickiest one of the lot. I even bought a stamping plate to make it a bit easier for me. When it arrived the images were a lot smaller than my nails, but I still managed to overcome this problem. The decision was how to use the plate!!
So I painted my nails with one coat of Nails Inc Big Apple Red and when dry did a white stripe across the middle of each nail.
I stamped with white of the red parts and green on the white. Now I haven't stamped for a while and lining the images up where tricky, to get the right colours on the right part of each nail, but I managed it. Also I have noticed just lately the my cuticles are getting drier than normal, so will be oiling them more..

Not one of the best I've done, but hey it is for an Ugly Sweater lol...
The last 2 challenges I'm really looking forward to, even though its a shame this is coming to an end.
Take a look below to see the other Ugly Sweater Nails, and until Sunday stay safe and much love...
