Vivien Kondor Nail Polish Review

Water Permeable Nail Polish

Today I have a special review for Vivien Kondor, on 2 of their new Water Permeable Nail Polishes from the Halal Collection. These polishes have a certificate of authenticity from the HFCE  (Halal Food Council of Europe)
There are 20 different colours and are £9.99 each. You can see the full range here.
The shades I have to show you are a vibrant red called Scarlet(188) and a deep red called Crimson(191). I also have a polish from the Pink Rose Collection called Beechwood Red (112) to use as a comparison against the Water Permeable. You can see this collection here, there are 9 shades priced at £2.99 each.

On first opening Scarlet I did notice the polish looked slightly thicker than normal,  but still had a nail polish smell. Application was no trouble, though it did look like a thicker type of gelly polish. I applied over naked nails with no base coat, as they are meant to be worn this way being water permeable, base coat defeats the object.
Drying time took longer to, at least 10 mins to totally touch dry without leaving a finger print in the polish.
Shown here with 2 coats and no topcoat.

You can still make out my nail line, but I imagine 3 coats would make this polish totally opaque. See what I mean when I said it's like a thicker gelly polish. Super bright and gorgeous colour with an amazing glossy finish. It looks more orangey red in the bottle. I love it!

Crimson was slightly darker than I expected from the label on the box. Still a very stunning vampy colour. Again a super glossy finish and the same gelly consistency. Another gorgeous polish.

Lastly Beechwood Red, a deep wine shade with a touch of shimmer. Two coats and no topcoat. Look how lush this looks..

I then added a matte topcoat just to see..

What do you think, glossy or matte? And have you tried or even heard of Water Permeable Polish? Let me know your thoughts below.
Vivien Kondor don't just stock polish, but other makeup products too, check them out on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time stay safe and much love. ...

  1. I read the purpose of these are for religious reasons? Is there more background on that?

    1. I've added the certificate of authenticity. These polishes mean they can be worn while praying and are breathable and more hygienic.

  2. These are beautiful! I wonder if they do a lot of testing to make sure there are no stainers since you can't wear base coat?

    1. I have a feeling the darker of the 2 may stain.

  4. Wow, these are freaking gorgeous. I don't get why they're water permeable. Please excuse my ignorance!

    1. Thank you. They are mainly for Muslim ladies who love to wear polish and don't need to remove it for praying.
