Nail Stickers made at home

Nail Stickers made at home

There are a few videos floating round you tube on how to make nail art stickers at home. Its really easy and great idea for free hand nail art, if you are (like me) no good painting with your non dominant hand. So for me being right handed, my left hand always comes out perfect, but when it comes to painting the same design on my right hand, I get the shakes lol and the nail art look ok, but not great. But with this sticker idea, you can paint any design you want, with your dominant hand. All you need is a piece of plastic, like a plastic sleeve for holding paper. As I used to decorate cakes, I had disposable piping bags, and they work well.

Paint two coats of clear nail polish, for each nail. I have already done this here, but its hard to see with it being clear. Once this is dry, you can paint any free hand nail art design you want on top. Using nail polish or acrylic paint. I chose to use acrylic paint. Im still getting used to free hand nail art, but have been practising for a while on paper. When design is dry, top coat it again, and leave to dry completely.

Once dry, carefully using tweezers, peal the stickers from the plastic. Top coat nails, this helps the sticker stick to your nails. Top coat again once on the nail, to prevent it lifting up. That's it, as easy as that.

Orly Nail Rescue

Orly Nail Rescue

Hello again :) Today I thought I'd share with you all what I do when I get a break or split in my nails. Now considering I used to bite them (for almost 30 years) and nothing stopped me, not even the disgusting tasting liquid for nail biting!! Now I love them long, and cry when one breaks lol. Have lost the complete length of my right thumb nails twice, and was so impatient for it to grow back. I have had them a lot longer than they are at the moment. This being as six....yes six are patched!! Before I found the Orly Nail Rescue, I would have lost the length of these nails, and although I hate them being patched, I would rather this than have short nails.

I bought this from ebay a while ago, cost me about £7. It consists of a nail glue, pot of powder (bit like acrylic powder) and a file. As I said it was a while ago, so since then I have replaced the nail glue and file, but the powder seems to last forever :) It works by painting the entire nail, even if its only a small break/split, with nail glue and the dipping  into the powder. When completely dry, file down to smooth out. That simple :) I have even painted glue and dipped again for extra strength. Its still available to buy on ebay. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/TK-NAIL-SUPPLIES-U-K?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

This is a must and I recommend it to anyone who loves then length of their nails :)

Mood and Sun changing Polish

Mood and Sun changing Polish

Mood changing polish and Sun changing polish has always had me acting silly lol running my hands under hot and cold water, or just standing in the sun to see the colour change. So this is going to be a long post. I have four Mood Struck colour changing the I bought from Cosmetics Fairy in a dark purple/blue, that changes to a light blue, neon pink, changes to a lighter pink,  green, changes to a bright yellow and turquoise, changes to a lighter turquoise. Just last week I won an auction on ebay for Miss Match colour change polish, in Red Temptation, changes to yellow, Pink Mood, Jungle and Aquamarine all change to a lighter shade of colour. I have never heard of this brand before, but if you have feel free to comment :) Quite a few photos coming up :)

The Mood Struck are nice colours, neon pink being my favourite. But not really much colour change that I could see, apart from the green, which isn't a colour I normally wear, but the colour change was the best, to a beautiful shade of yellow.

As you can see the green is the only one that seemed to change, but still nice polish to use. The Miss Match on the other had are smaller bottles 4.2ml, to the Mood Struck 7ml. But again are nice to apply, bit of a weird smell, but not overly powering. They were just awesome :) I spent a while going from hot to cold water lol, you could see the change in them all...

Just a wicked change, can't wait to try these on my nails. There is a bit of a similarity of colour between Mood Struck Turquoise and Miss Match Jungle and Aquamarine, but Miss Match has more of a noticeable colour change. If you can get some I would so recommend :) Now on to the Sun Activated changing polish.
I have two by Del Sol. Ruby Slipper, a beautiful golden glittery polish, which in the sun changes to an awesome red, and Metal Mania, a silver shimmery polish and changes to a nice shimmery purple in the sun. The other two I have are called Sun Vision ( same bottles as the Miss Match ) Banana Tango, a nice yellow that changes to a mustard colour and Platinum Passion, white that changes to a lilac shade.

They are all beautiful in their own way, but Ruby Slipper is my favourite. Just a wicked change :) have a nail design all ready to do with this one, just waiting for a decent spell of sunshine lol
That's all for now, hope you enjoy this post and my blog :) as I enjoy doing it :)

Pretty by Quest

Pretty by Quest

A while ago when I was out shopping I went into Poundland. Straight away the first place I go to is where they have all their cosmetics and nail bits :) I have bought many polishes from there as you get a real bargain if your lucky. I mean Sally Hansen or Revlon for £1!! Who could walk away from that lol. Well on this particular day I saw they had some things by Pretty By Quest. This brand have many different make up products, and many nail bits. I got two magnetic nail polishes and a dip and twist polish remover. For £1 thought I'd give them a try.

The magnetics for a cheap price worked considerably well, and they come with the magnet. Nice to apply, no streaks and no strong smell, so a proper bargain :) The dip and twist remover on the other hand, although it did work (but wouldn't recommend for glitter polish removal) had a really strong smell, and pieces of the sponge came out. Had to wash my hands after using. But this for £1 was a good buy for quick emergencies.

MUA Love Heart Nail Polish

MUA Love Heart Nail Polish

Thanks to My Simple Little Pleasures, water marbling has become more easier :) so I thought I'd try the Love Heart Collection from MUA. I have all the nail polishes in this collection, but chose to use I <3 U and U R Fab. As I thought they would work well together.

They were nice to work with, and the shades of pink complimented each other perfectly. Well done MUA :) Spread nicely in the water, and didn't dry too quick, so pattern could be drawn. I painted my nails with one coat of I <3 U first, then did the water marble. Pleased with the end result, as still new to water marbling :)

Cheaper Stamping Polish

Cheaper Stamping Polish

Hi, so today Im going to review a cheaper stamping polish than the Konad. I have a few smaller bottle of the Konad, and have noticed that my bottle of Psyche Pink has got lighter over time. Anyway, I have used some of my normal polish for stamping, with not good results. Bought some Sally Hansen Intsa-Dri, and they stamp well, but I was still after a cheaper polish just for stamping. I came across a brand GCOCL, that comes with a stamping machine and plates, but I only wanted the polish as I have loads of nail plates, and didn't really see the point of the machine!
So after some digging on ebay, I found the polish alone. There are seven 10ml bottles, six colours and a top coat, and only cost me about £8.00 :)

As I had already done my nails, and loving the sparkle lol, I stamped each colour on black and white paper. Obviously the white paper looks better, but I was still pleased with the outcome on the black paper.

As there are primary colours I'm planing on mixing two together to make other colours, and see how that stamps. Overall I'm very happy with these, not to thick, smell isn't overly strong, and a nice size bottle. If your after a cheaper stamping polish, I'd say give these a go, and let me know what you think about them :)

Beauty UK Twinkle Twinkle.

Beauty UK Twinkle Twinkle.

This is from the Beauty UK Posh Polish glitter collection. I bought Twinkle Twinkle from my local Superdrug for £3.49. Wasn't sure at first how much of a holographic quality it would have....but OMG when the sun came out I was in love. Now I'm not a lover of glitter polish as its a pain to remove. But have since found a cool way of taking it off ( but that's another blog lol ). I have worn in with two different manicures, as the past few days here in the UK the sun has been making an appearance :)

You can make out the holo effect in the bottle with the sun shining on it :) Its made up of strands and specks of glitter, which all adds to the final result....sparkly and awesome.
On my nails this week I have a rainbow tiger pattern, and just had to top it with this :) Can see myself buying another, as I know I will use this top coat alot.

Textured and Leather Look nail polish.

Textured and Leather Look nail polish.

At the beginning of the month, I decided to have a go at making my own textured and leather effect nail polish. My budget being the reason, I couldn't afford the expensive brand name ones, but also didn't want to miss out on these effect nail polishes
The leather effect was made using crackle nail polish, inspired after I watched a video on you tube by Nail Lounge 46. Instead of painting your nails normally with the crackle, you side swipe across the nail, and finish with a matte top coat. From all the crackle polish I have, I think the black and white look best. The textured nails where created using fine nail art glitter, kids craft sand, salt and kids craft glitter. I just painted the nail with a base colour and while still wet sprinkled the different items over each nail. When dried lightly painted the nail again with the same colour as used for the base. I think all look ok, but do prefer the craft sand the best.

Holograpic beauties...

Holograpic beauties...

Still getting used to all this, but as I said yesterday I will now show my other holographic nail polishes.

Again I purchased these from beautycosmetic.biz. Not as cheap as the Perfect Holographic, but still good value and for my budget :)
The Catherine Arley 676 (numbers not names) is a very pale silver, and is good for a holographic top coat,
without changing the colour of the polish you put it over.
Golden Rose Paris in 118, 108, 109, 112, 102 and 117. They are nice to apply, and have a nice holographic sparkle.

Apart from the 2 Laya Holo's I have (Mermaid Spell and Ultra Violet), the best holo I have is the cheapest!!
Perfect Holographic, maybe small bottle (6.5ml) but it really comes to life in the sun :)
I find myself walking along, just staring at my nails ha ha I must look like a nutter!!
Here is where I bought mine from beautycosmetic.biz They work in Euro, and after you have chosen which
polishes you want, click on the contact us button, and send to them the colours you want, number's no name's,  and ask for a request to pay by paypal. They were very helpful with me and it didn't take long for them to send back a paypal invoice.
Once you've paid, they will send you a dispatch notice with a tracking number. I found this web site
http://www.trackitonline.ru/ to track my parcel. I suppose al in all it took
just over a week, so pretty fast really, good too as I am very impatient when Im waiting for a delivery :)
Well that's all for now, hope you enjoy this :)

First ever post :)

First ever blog :)

So after thinking about this for a long time, I finally decided to start my own blog. For nail polish and nail art
bits reviews and my own manicures.
I have noticed myself when I have been looking for reviews on certain nails polishes, and other nail art bits,
like stamping polish, plates glitters etc... that I can't find anyone who's reviewed them.
So that was the main reason I started, as well as my love for nail art. Up until 3 years ago I used to bite my nails ...hence the name of my blog lol.
Nothing worked to stop me, until one morning I woke up and just stopped!! Anyway I wont waffle on anymore... I hope you enjoy :)
These little beauties I purchased from beautycosmetic.biz. They are a Bulgarian web site. It was very easy
to order from them, and pretty quick delivery, with a tracking number.

Sadly that have no names just numbers, 1 to 8. They come alive in the sun, and only cost me about 88p!!!!
They other polishes on the nail wheel are also holographic, and I will post pics of them tomorrow. Till then,
I really hope you enjoy my first ever blog :) x x
