Cat Eye Powder

Total Flop!

Hi guys, just a quick post today. Hope you are all well. So while I'm waiting on delivery of my next review items from Born Pretty Store, I thought I'd try out some items I purchased with my BP points. One of those was this stunning purple Magnetic Cat Eye Powder.
I painted my nails with black polish and my tacky topcoat. The powder applied so well, although looking matte. I dusted off the excess powder and used my water based polish, while still wet I held the cat eye magnet over as close as I could without touching the polish. Waited for about 20 seconds, but nothing! Zilch! No cat eye effect at all.

Still a very beautiful colour, and my thinking why the magnet didn't work is a few reasons. Could be it does only work with gel, or I dusted too much off so not enough magnetic pigment to create a line, or my magnet isn't strong enough. I've seen others use bar magnets so may buy one just to see.
Have you tried any of these magnetic powders? Have you had better luck than me?
Stay safe and much love.....

  2. Still looks pretty even if the magnet didn't work, which sucks. I love vampy colors like this

  3. Sucks that the magnetic effect didn't work, but this color is super vampy and fantastic anyway.

  5. I've never tried magnetic powders. I think I was all into magnetic polish when Nails Inc got big in Sephora but I haven't touched it in years!

  8. Too bad it doesn't work with a water-based top coat. I suspect this will need to be used with gel so the top coat is still fluid when the magnet is used.
