Born Pretty Store

Mermaid Powder Set

Hi guys, first off I want to start this post with an apology. You see I first asked to review this Mermaid Powder Set from Born Pretty Store way back before my reaction ti gel polish even started. I have found a way to use these powders without gel polish, but as this set came with 3 5ml gels, I only thought it right to review using these, but on swatch nails. I will use them on my nails without gels at some point in the future.
So in this set you get 5 different coloured mermaid powders, a base gel, black gel and No wipe topcoat. All soak off and curable in both UV and LED lamps.
Number 1 is purple.
Number 2 is green.
Number 3 is antique gold.
Number 4 is blue
Number 5 is a purply red.
So after applying 2 coats of black gel and the no wipe topcoat, I used the applicators and gently buffed the pigments on each swatch nail. The effect was noticeable right away and looked super pretty. Protected with another coat of top gel.

It would be interesting to see how each of these look over a white base and other colours. Very pigmented and a great look.
Have you tried these out yet. I would recommend them. My discount code is below and join me again for another review real soon.
Facebook, Instagram  and Twitter are all the places you need to keep up to date with Born Pretty Store.
Till next time stay safe and much love...

  1. These are beautiful!! It would be cool if you could do a mix of colors in like a smoosh or saran wrap mani then do the powder over that. So you get an interesting look. I don't know if that is possible with gels since I've never worked with them, but it's a thought. Maybe test that out when you are using them without gels later on? I'd love to see that.

  4. I have a multichrome powder to review but don't do gels and haven't got it to work on regular polish yet. I may have to take the gel leap! These look lovely!

    1. You can always buy a water based top coat. This works with normal polish x
