Christmas Nails- Christmas Bling

Wow I really can't believe this is the last theme of my Christmas Nails Challenge, and that its Christmas Eve!! I have had an idea for this one in mind for a while, and wanted something special for tomorrow (Christmas Day!!). Before I start though, I would like to say a big big thank you to everyone who joined in this challenge with me. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did :) and seeing everyone else's amazing nails too :) I did do another two christmas nail designs that wasn't included in this challenge, just for fun really.

So for my Christmas Bling Nails, I wanted something very sparkly and blingy, but colourful at the same time. I have glitter nail polish, but wanted something more 'in your face' lol, so I chose loose glitter. Messy and that puts me off of using it, but I've been dreaming of these nails for ages, so it had to be done!!

I have a selection of loose glitters, but chose these six as they are the most christmassy colours. I also decided to paint my nail with one coat of a contrasting colour polish. Although you wont see the polish when my nails are finished, this was my personal preference to do this.

Then working on one nail at a time, I painted a thin layer of topcoat and dipped my nail into the glitter. The bits that didn't get covered I sprinkled some glitter over. Some of my nails were too long to fit in the little pots so I sprinkled the whole nail. Shaking off the excess, and using a fan brush to wipe off glitter from the skin around my nail. When the glitter had dried I used a blusher brush to gently wipe the whole nail.

Just look how awesomely sparkly and blingy they look :) The clean up wasn't as bad as I was expecting! I could have left them like this, but it wasn't what I was planning on doing. So once they were all dry, I painted a small section of the tip with topcoat and dipped into another colour glitter. All the nails have a different coloured tip.

I'm not a lover of loose glitter because of the clean up after, but this time it was ok, and I just love how they sparkle when light hits them. If this manicure was for a night out I would have left them like this, but as I want this to last I topcoated them. Was hoping the topcoat wouldn't change the look of the glitter too much, and it hasn't really.

I know this is going to be a complete pain to remove, but I'm not thinking of that for now lol. I'm just loving these, they remind me of tinsel, very Christmassy :)
Do they remind you of anything?

So that's all the Christmas Nails Challenge themes done! How quick that time went too, so all that is left for me to say to all you beautiful people is, Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas with your family and friends, stay safe and much love to you all :)

  1. wow Tracey these are fabulous! I love glitter on nails but dont like the clean up either lol I always worry when doing glitter that top coats can dull it or change it. which top coat did you use?
Merry Christmas to you and yours xxxx :)
